PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 2 -- An army jawan who had arrived at his home on leave had gone out to his field, where he was attacked with knives and sticks on Friday. The attackers left him in a critical condition after which he was admitted to the Military hospital. On the complaint of the victim's father, police have registered a case against three people. The incident occurred in Karenti village under Manikpur police station area of Pratapgarh. As per reports, Buddh Prakash Nirmal, a resident of Karenti village under Manikpur police station area of Pratapgarh, in his complaint to the police stated that his son Shivshankar Nirmal, who is a jawan in the army, had come home on leave. He had gone to the field at around 6.30am when some people of the village reached there with sticks, knives, and iron rods and attacked him. They used casteist slurs against him. They also broke his mobile. When people from nearby areas rushed to help the victim on hearing his screams, the attackers fled away threatening to kill him. The victim was brought in a critical condition to CHC for treatment where doctors after providing primary treatment referred him to military hospital where he is presently undergoing treatment in the ICU....
