Army felicitates families of war heroes in pre-anniv outreach programme
Lucknow, June 13 -- As the nation prepares to mark the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, the Indian Army has launched a special outreach programme to honour the families of soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War. As part of these pre-anniversary celebrations, heartfelt interactions and felicitations are being carried out across the country to recognize sacrifices made by the bravehearts and their loved ones.
In one such event held on Thursday in Hastinapur, Tehsil Mawana in Meerut, the Army paid visit to Urmila Kumari, wife of Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav, SM (P), and presented her a memento and an official letter of appreciation. The gesture was a mark of respect and gratitude for the valour and service of her late husband, who displayed exemplary courage during the Kargil war. An Army team visited the family's residence and engaged in a meaningful interaction to understand their current needs and concerns.
