PRAYAGRAJ, April 18 -- The three-day annual technical festival, Aparoksha-2026, commenced with a formal inauguration ceremony at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) on Friday. Addressing the gathering, IIIT-A director Prof Mukul Sharad Sutaone highlighted the institute's three flagship events-Effervescence, Aparoksha and Asmita-underscoring their significance in shaping the institute's academic and cultural identity. He encouraged students to participate in the technical events and emphasized how such platforms showcase the institute's technical excellence. In his comprehensive address, he also reflected on IIIT-A's achievements and urged students to make the most of the opportunities presented by Aparoksha-2026. A brief overview of the festival was presented by the organising in-charge (OIC-TAC), Prof Pavan Chakraborty, who highlighted the vision, scale, and importance of Aparoksha as a hub of innovation and technical creativity. Dean of student affairs Prof Krishna Pratap Singh extended a warm welcome to all attendees, while dean of academics Prof Pavan Chakraborty emphasised the importance of such initiatives in fostering technical proficiency and academic growth among students. The inauguration was followed by an Industry Interaction Conclave, where speakers engaged with students and shared valuable insights from the industry. This was succeeded by a Startup Pitch Session, providing a platform for participants to present innovative ideas and nurture an entrepreneurial mindset.
