LUCKNOW, Aug. 25 -- Young leg spinner Zeeshan Ansari on Sunday staged yet another fine performance to help defending champions Meerut Mavericks notch up their third win in as many as five matches so far, defeating Noida Super Kings by 41 runs here. Highest wicket taker in the last season with 24 scalps in his name, local boy Ansari took 4/17 as Noida Super Kings could make 143/9 while chasing 185 to win in 20 overs. After losing five wickets for just 65, Noida Super Kings though tried to stage a comeback through skipper Karn Sharma (37, 24b, 3x4, 2x6) and Prashant Veer (39, 37b, 6x4) as they stitched together 75 runs for the sixth wicket, Ansari broke the partnership by removing Veer. Vishal Chaudhary grabbed two wickets in first over, whereas Kartik Tyagi took 2/28. Earlier, Divyansh Rajput struck an unbeaten 28-ball 53 with the help of three boundaries and four sixes to push MM score 184/7. Rituraj Sharma (34) and Ritik Vats (24) made useful contributions. Later in the day, table topper Kashi Rudras defeated local outfits Lucknow Falcons by 19 runs to score fifth win. Rudras piled up 187/4 with skipper K Sharma hitting 71 (44b, 7x4, 3x6).
