PRAYAGRAJ, June 20 -- : Another accused involved in the incident of shooting and injuring four people in Karela Bazar area under Patti Kotwali police station in Pratapgarh on Monday evening, was injured in an encounter with Aaspur Devsara police and nabbed on Wednesday night. He has been admitted to the medical college for treatment, police said. SHO of Aaspur Devsara station Dhirendra Thakur said that the accused has been identified as Mubarak Khan alias Zahirul Hasan, 23, a resident of Ganai in Dilippur area. He was involved in the shootout in Karela Bazar under Patti Kotwali on June 16. More than half a dozen cases of theft, assault and fraud are registered against him in the district, he added. SHO said that on June 16, two people in a car opened fire at two friends from Kandhai area in Karela Bazar and later injured two passersby also. On June 17, one of the accused involved in the incident was injured in an encounter with Kandhai police and sustained a gunshot injury in the leg. Late on Wednesday night, the cops were checking vehicles at Teliyani canal in the area when an attempt was made to stop a youth coming on a bike. The youth started firing at the police team and was injured in the retaliatory firing. He sustained a gunshot injury in his right leg before being nabbed.
