MEERUT, Nov. 25 -- Inspired by the virtual Ramleela of Ayodhya performed during the pandemic, an enthusiastic group of people led by Mukhiya Gurjar, president of Pathik Sena, has now planned a virtual ' Mahabharat' enactment in Hastinapur.

Mukhiya Gurjar is also associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His son Kulwinder Singh is president of the Meerut Zila Panchayat. Mukhiya played the role of Kumbhkaran in the virtual Ramleela of Ayodhya and his son portrayed Shatrughan (Ram's brother).

Mukhiya, who was buoyed by the virtual Ayodhya Ramleela during the pandemic, thought of performing a virtual ' Mahabharat' in Hastinapur (presently a part of Meerut) as it was once the capital of the Kauravas and Pandavas.
