AMU VC for transformation of Malaviya teacher training centres
AGRA, July 13 -- Vice-chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Prof Naima Khatoon stressed on transformation of Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centres (MMTTCs) into centres of learning that align with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 - interdisciplinary, inclusive, innovation-oriented and digitally empowered. She expressed these views as the chairperson of an academic panel while addressing Central Universities Vice Chancellors' National Conference held in Kevadia in Gujarat on July 10 and 11. AMU was leading as coordinator university at the conference organised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the secretary, higher education, the chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC), the chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the additional secretary, ministry of education and vice chancellors from central universities from across country were present at the event.
The panel chaired by Prof Khatoon included vice chancellors from Central University of Odisha, Mahatma Gandhi Central University (Bihar), Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University (Telangana) and Rajiv Gandhi Central University (Arunachal Pradesh) along with AMU.
On the occasion, Prof Khatoon presented a comprehensive thematic paper, which outlined the structure, effectiveness, and innovative potential of MMTTCs, along with multi-dimensional policy recommendations.
