AGRA, Nov. 20 -- Under scanner for alleged terror links following the Red Fort blast in Delhi, Faridabad's Al-Falah University has been excluded from participation in the North Zone Inter University Cricket Tournament scheduled to begin on November 22 at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The exclusion of the Al-Falah University cricket team from the university-level tournament follows the suspension of the university's membership by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The AIU suspended Al-Falah University last week after a police probe into the Delhi blast connected a group of individuals with alleged links to the university to the terror attack. "The cricket team from Al-Falah University will not be allowed to play in the cricket tournament to be held at the University Pavilion Ground of AMU from November 22," said prof Syed Amjad Ali Rizvi, secretary of the Games Committee at AMU. Tournament fixtures are now being adjusted, as Al-Falah University's team had initially been included in the schedule. The AIU's communication on the suspension reached organisers only after fixtures had been drafted. The Association of Indian Universities, an advisory body under the Union education ministry, evaluates and recognises degrees, diplomas and qualifications from Indian and foreign universities and also issues equivalence certificates....
