Amid soaring demand, UPPCL chairman reviews power supply in state
LUCKNOW, June 13 -- Amid the unprecedented surge in power demand, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) chairman Ashish Kumar Goel on Thursday conducted a comprehensive review of the state's electricity supply, including the state capital's infrastructure system.
During the meeting held at his office, the UPPCL chairman emphasised that with demand reaching a record 31,487 MW in state and 1975.04 MW in Lucknow, all officers and staff must remain highly alert to ensure stable and uninterrupted electricity supply across all regions.
Goel instructed managing directors of all distribution companies in the state to ensure intensive field monitoring throughout the summer months.
In Lucknow, he said areas like Priyadarshini Nagar, Ekta Nagar, Golf City, Nadar Ganj, Nigohan, Faizullaganj, Gomti Nagar, and Indira Nagar-where recurring complaints have been reported-needed urgent attention.
Senior officials have been asked to personally visit these zones.
It was decided that no routine shutdowns should be taken during this critical period, and any power disruptions-such as transformer damage, wire faults, or tripping-must be resolved without delay....
