Amid row over transfers, 2 IAS put on waitlist
Lucknow, June 20 -- The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday put two IAS officers on the waitlist, in a decision that is considered the fallout of a controversy over transfers in the health and registration departments.
The senior officers who have been put on the waitlist are: director (administration), medical and health services, Bhawani Singh Khangarot and inspector general, registration, Sameer Verma. Principal secretary, stamp and registration, Amit Gupta has been given additional charge of IG, registration. Special secretary, health and family welfare, Aryaka Akhouri has been given additional charge of director (administration), medical and health services.
Addressing a press conference, minister of state for stamp and registration (independent charge) Ravindra Jaiswal on Thursday spoke about alleged irregularities in the transfer of officers in the department.
Earlier, deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak had objected to anomalies in the transfer of medical officers in the health department. Senior officers were directed to follow the transfer rules and send the transfer list to the health minister's office before releasing it....
