PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 21 -- The Allahabad high court has refused to order a special investigation team (SIT) probe into the alleged unnatural deaths of cows and calves at Gaushalas in Vrindavan, Mathura. The court was informed by the state government counsel that measures have been taken to prevent such incidents in the future. A bench of Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and Justice Kshitij Shailendra, while disposing of the PIL on August 13, directed the state authorities to ensure proper care of cows and regular monitoring of Gaushalas. "Given the above facts, situation and the documents placed on record, we do not find any reason to continue with the present PIL; hence, the same stands disposed of," the order stated....
