PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 13 -- The Allahabad high court on Friday adjourned the hearing in the Krishna Janmbhoomi-Shahi Eidgah title dispute case of Mathura district till September 26. Justice Ram Manohar Narain Mishra fixed the next date for hearing after hearing counsels for the parties. Two applications regarding the deletion of a plaintiff from suit number 7 were also present and were heard by the court. In an order dated July 18, the high court had allowed an application for representative capacity under Order 1 Rule 8 of the Civil Procedure Code (CPC). After this, now suit no.17 will be treated as a representative suit and decided first. The matter will now be heard on September 26. The Hindu side has filed 18 suits. The controversy concerns the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb-era Shahi Eidgah mosque in Mathura, which is alleged to have been built after demolishing a temple at Lord Krishna's birthplace. The Hindu side has sought possession of the site after removal of the structure of the Shahi Eidgah masjid. They have also sought restoration of the temple in its place, and a permanent injunction in this regard. In May 2023, the high court transferred all such suits from the Mathura court to itself....
