LUCKNOW, July 13 -- The medical education department has planned that all the state-run medical colleges will be scrutinised for various facilities on campus by at least two senior faculty members of other colleges. Uttar Pradesh has 35 government and autonomous medical colleges. According to an office order of the department, a list has been made where two senior faculty of professor rank will visit one college and make a report. Working at emergency wing, trauma centre, pathology, blood bank, including stock of blood of different groups, ICU, ambulance, hearse car and oxygen plant will be examined. Also, biomedical waste disposal, environment protection, availability of bed sheets in wards will be checked. Training of nursing staff, stock of medicine, life support system, radiology tests, rate list of different services, food quality at canteen and also that is served to patients will be examined. Besides, the roster of doctors for duty, whether generic medicines are being prescribed or if the campus has a generic medicine store will be scrutinised. Apart from this, the presence of middlemen on campus, availability of toilets, cleanliness on the campus and drinking water availability will also be checked. Status of training and teaching facility for students, status of library availability of books, security of students, deployment of non-PG residents, ratio of junior residents against number of MBBS seats and hospital beds will come under screening too....
