All districts given adequate funds for night shelters, blankets, bonfires, says CM Yogi
GORAKHPUR, Dec. 29 -- Directing officials to ensure that no poor suffer during the harsh weather conditions, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said the state government has released adequate funds to protect them from the ongoing cold wave.
"Necessary funds have been released to all districts for the distribution of blankets and woollen clothes, operation of night shelters, and arrangements for bonfires," Adityanath said on Sunday.
The chief minister has directed officials to ensure that all night shelters have adequate beds, clean surroundings, and sufficient blankets. He also stressed that food must be provided to those staying at the shelters. He himself distributed blankets and food to the needy.
Speaking to the media, the chief minister said North Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh, were currently experiencing an intense cold wave. He appealed to citizens with resources to come forward and help the needy. HTC...
