AGRA, Oct. 2 -- Aligarh police have arrested one of the two shooters allegedly hired for the murder of Abhishek Gupta, a two-wheeler showroom owner who was shot dead while boarding a bus in Roravar area last week. The arrested shooter, identified as Mohd Fazal, was held on Wednesday. He disclosed that he and another man, Asif, who is absconding, were allegedly hired for Rs 3 lakh to kill Abhishek, with Rs 1 lakh paid in advance. Both shooters had previously worked at the residence of the accused couple, Ashok Pandey and Puja Shakun Pandey. While they failed to target Gupta in Khair, they opened fire when he was boarding a bus in Roravar. Abhishek, 25, was attacked around 9:30 pm on Friday while boarding a bus to Sikandrarau in Hathras district with his father. He sustained bullet injuries and later died at a hospital in Aligarh. Police said a case was registered against Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha office bearers Ashok and his wife Puja, who were named by the victim's family. Ashok has been arrested, while a search is on for Puja, who claims to be a Mahamandleshwar.
