AKTU to have centreof excellence in AI: V-C
LUCKNOW, July 8 -- Authorities at APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) have sketched out plans to create a centre of excellence (CoE) for artificial intelligence at the university.
This will enable researchers, students, start-ups and people in the industry to utilize computational tools for various purposes, shared vice chancellor Prof JP Pandey.
"The CoE being built at a cost of Rs 25-30 crore will enable affiliated colleges to utilise expensive resource sharing of graphics processing unit (GPU). This will make it convenient for the students and researchers to work at ease with appropriate infrastructure without paying anything extra," said Pandey.
He also said that the centre of excellence will bridge the gap between AI's potential and the practical adoption in diverse fields.
"It will build foundational and advanced AI competencies, creating educational tools to enhance productivity, supporting research and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. It will empower the faculty, students, researchers and industry partners to integrate AI meaningfully into their work and make AKTU future ready," he added....
