Lucknow, June 3 -- The Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) authorities have sketched plans to utilise Artificial Intelligence (AI) further, even as the question paper-making process at the university began involving new-age technology from the odd semester examinations of 2024-25. Vice-chancellor AKTU JP Pandey said that they have sketched plans to further involve the new age technology in academic and administrative processes. "We are working on getting the answer copies scanned and checked using the AI tools which would read a handwritten copy through images and convert it into a word file. This will enable less time and more efficiency if everything goes right. We are currently checking the efficacy using some old answer copies already evaluated by the teachers," said Pandey. He said that once checked, they will get the answer copies uploaded on the network allowing it to be viewed at the click of a mouse. "We are in the process of creating an AI model through a neural network through which the model will be trained to get the copies checked. If things go as per plan, we can have the model ready in a pilot mode for evaluation during the even semester of the academic year 2025-26," Pandey added....
