Lucknow, Aug. 28 -- Pandals were the cynosure of all eyes as the city gathered to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at several locations on Wednesday. Renditions of bhajans and chants of 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' echoed throughout the day there. The ten-day festivities will culminate on Anant Chaturdashi on September 6. An idol of the 'Manautiyon ke Raja' resembling the idol at Siddhi Vinayak temple in Mumbai was installed at Jhulelal Vatika, where the pandal resembles the Akshardham temple of Delhi. The pandal also features a Bhramos missile to acknowledge Operation Sindoor. Several visited a pandal decorated to look like 51-feet-long Shivling at Paper Mill Colony, where a special arti, similar to the Ganga arti, was performed in the evening. At a pandal in Chowk, an idol resembling Lalbaghcha Raja was installed. At the 103-year-old puja pandal in Aminabad, members of Maharashtra Samaj immersed themselves in traditional celebrations. The elderly of the Samaj were felicitated on the occasion. A customary celebration to mark one day Ganesh Utsav was held at Ekta Sadan by the members of the Odia community. Pandals at Aminabad ke Raja and Oscar Sai Yoga Kendra also marked the festival. Ritika Singh, 30, was accompanied by her five-year-old daughter, Shruti, while visiting the Manautiyon ke Raja pandal. "We have been coming here for the last five years. Coming here feels divine, and it also helps me and my daughter soak in the spirit of celebrations," said Sharma. Khushi, 26, and her friends Riniki, Shweta and Priya attended the pandal near Aminabad. "Soon after we returned from our offices, we visited the pandal so that we could have some quality time together. We have been visiting Ganesh pandals ever since we were in school, and this time of the year reminds us of our school days," said Khushi....
