Ajmer: Doctor among 2 booked for girl's rape
Ajmer, April 13 -- A case has been registered against a resident doctor at a government women's hospital and a kiosk operator for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Ajmer district, police said on Sunday.
According to police, the doctor, Kailash Kumar, befriended the girl and assaulted her. She had come to the hospital for a relative's delivery. The accused allegedly blackmailed her and forced her to undergo an abortion, police said.
Later, an e-Mitra kiosk operator, Kushal Chouhan, on the pretext of helping her to get away from the doctor, raped her multiple times, police said, citing the complaint lodged by the victim's sister at the Krishna Ganj police station on Saturday night.
According to police, the elder sister of the victim reported that the resident doctor befriended the girl and stayed in contact.
As per the complaint, on February 14 last year, Kumar took her to his flat, offered her a cold drink laced with intoxicants, and sexually assaulted her, police said. He recorded photos and videos of the victim and continued to blackmail her, police said, adding that he also forced her to take abortion pills.
The complaint further said the victim used to visit an e-Mitra kiosk for her school-related work and had become acquainted with the operator and confided in him. On December 17, 2025, he took her to a hotel and assaulted her. Between December 2025 and April 2026, he sexually and physically assaulted her multiple times, it stated.
On April 10, the elder sister noticed injury marks on the victim's body. When questioned, the girl narrated the entire episode.
Police registered a case under sections related to rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
"Instantly FIR was lodged as we received the complaint, victim's medical investigation is completed and the course of enquiry is ongoing. We have also taken the victim statement. Soon the culprits will be behind bars," SHO Arvind Charan said....
