Lucknow, July 14 -- The All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) will hold its Federal Council meeting in Lucknow on July 20 to formulate a national-level action programme against the Centre and states' privatisation push in the power sector. AIPEF chairman Shailendra Dubey and secretary general P Rathnakar Rao said "The meeting will discuss the proposed privatisation of two UP discoms, parallel distribution licences in Maharashtra, tariff-based competitive bidding for transmission, monetisation of transmission assets, and joint ventures involving state GENCOs."
