AIMPLB drive: Special prayers held for safety of Waqf properties
LUCKNOW, Sept. 20 -- All India Muslim Personal Board (AIMPLB) intensified the second phase of its nationwide "Save Waqf Campaign" with special sermons on "the importance of Waqf and the serious implications and apprehension arising from the recently passed Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025" before Friday prayers.
Special prayers were also held after the Friday prayers for protection and safety of Waqf properties at many places, said Imam, Aishbagh Eidgah, and AIMPLB executive committee member Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali.
On the other hand, Imam-e-Juma Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad Naqvi, general secretary, Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind, claimed that the Supreme Court's interim verdict on the Waqf (Amendment) Act was not satisfactory. "The court has remained silent on the 'Waqf by User' issue and has made registration of Waqf properties mandatory. The three sections on which the court has imposed an interim stay are satisfactory," he said. The second phase of the AIMPLB campaign, which began on September 1, will conclude on November 30.
