Nainital, March 28 -- Wildlife officials in Corbett Tiger Reserve are getting worried over an ailing female elephant that it has kept in Aamdanda area of Kosi Range after it started attacking its attendants in the past one week due increase in her aggression and irritability.

On Tuesday, it attacked its mahout. A few days ago it had attacked the deputy ranger. Now, it is being kept under a close watch and being treated by a veterinary doctor.

BP Pant, Kosi range officer, said 50 to 55-year-old Lakshmi has become aggressive after falling sick few for nearly a week.

"The she-elephant on Tuesday tried to attack its mahout while he was trying to feed it sugarcane. Few days ago, the elephant tried to attack the deputy ranger also," he said. P...
