New Delhi, April 27 -- The director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, Dr M Srinivas has been appointed as a member of the NITI Aayog, a statement by the medical institute said on Sunday. "AIIMS New Delhi formally announces and congratulates Dr M Srinivas, Director, AIIMS New Delhi, on his distinguished appointment as a Member of NITI Aayog, the Government of India's premier policy think tank...," said the release from AIIMS. Srinivas, who took charge in September 2022, succeeded Randeep Guleria. Srinivas still had time left in his tenure. It is likely that AIIMS will soon get an interim director before the government appoints a full-time head, hospital officials aware of the matter said. "No official name has been decided as of now.
