Agra biryani seller's killing not linked to Pahalgam: Police
Agra, April 29 -- Refuting claims that a biryani's seller murder in Agra on April 23 had anything to do with the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the police here said two men allegedly involved in the killing were arrested after an encounter on Monday. Those arrested were identified as Priyansh Yadav and Shivam Baghel while a third assailant, Pushpendra Baghel, was absconding.
Another man, identified as Manoj Chaudhary, who allegedly made a video go viral in a bid to link the murder with Pahalgam incident and reportedly mislead the police, was also arrested. The murder was the outcome of a dispute over money for food and had nothing to do with the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the police said.
"Manoj Chaudhary (25) mischievously concocted a story in a video going viral and connected the killing of Gulfam with the recent attack on tourists in Pahalgam. He claimed that Gulfam's killing was by Kshatriya Gau Rakshak Dal in protest against the Pahalgam incident," Agra police commissioner Deepak Kumar said at a press conference on Monday evening. "It has now transpired that such an attempt to concoct this narrative while inciting religious sentiments was done with the aim of misleading police looking for the accused in the murder," the commissioner further said....
