Adityanath fills enumeration form under SIR in Gorakhpur
GORAKHPUR, Nov. 19 -- Setting an example of civic responsibility, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday completed his Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter-verification process at the Gorakhnath Temple premises. Registered as a voter at Booth No. 223, Kanya Purva Madhyamik Vidyalay in the Gorakhnath area, the CM filled out and submitted his verification form, stressing the importance of accurate and updated electoral rolls.
The CM urged citizens to actively participate in the verification exercise, emphasising that accurate voter lists strengthen democratic processes and ensure transparency in elections.
District magistrate Deepak Meena said under the SIR programme, officials visited the CM's residence, as he is a registered voter in the Gorakhpur Urban Legislative Assembly segment.
"The SIR drive is crucial for maintaining accuracy in the electoral roll. The CM's participation sends a strong message to the public about the importance of verifying their voter details. We expect the campaign to gain significant momentum because of this gesture," Meena said.
The CM held a Janata Darshan at the Gorakhnath Temple on Tuesday morning and directed officials to take strict action in all police-related matters, emphasising there must be no delay in assisting victims, an official statement said.
"Delays, intentional pendency or any form of carelessness in resolving citizens' grievances will invite strict action against officers responsible responsible," he stated.
Reassuring visitors, he added: "No one needs to panic. Every genuine issue will be resolved effectively and promptly."
