LUCKNOW/GORAKHPUR, June 21 -- The 11th International Yoga Day will be marked across the state on Saturday. The theme this time is "Yoga for One Earth, One Health". Chief minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to attend a programme in connection with the celebrations at the Mahant Digvijaynath Auditorium in Gorakhpur. Addressing a public gathering at Bhagwanpur near the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, the CM urged citizens to actively participate in Yoga Day celebrations. "Yoga is India's legacy, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given it global recognition. It is said that a healthy body is the foundation of righteous action. On this day, the world will witness India's rich cultural heritage with pride," he said. The CM will deliver the keynote address at the concluding ceremony of the week-long yoga training camp, which has been held from June 15 to June 21. Additionally, he will preside over an international seminar on Ayurveda and Yoga, which will include experts from Nepal and China. As part of the nationwide celebration, mass yoga demonstrations will take place at 4000 locations across the state, with 1,00,000 in India following the Common Yoga Protocol. The events will begin at 6 am. Deputy chief ministers and ministers have been assigned districts to ensure the smooth conduct of International Yoga Day and they will remain present there during the Yoga sessions. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak will be attending sessions at the Residency and Ayush minister Dayashankar Mishra will be at Raj Bhavan in Lucknow. Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will be in Gaziabad, while urban development minister AK Sharma will be in Jaunpur. Finance minister Suresh Kumar Khanna will be in Varanasi. Jal shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh will be in Gorakhpur. Apart from ministers, MPs and MLAs have also been assigned districts. Yoga Week began June 15 and, as part of which, several programmes are being conducted at district, tehsil, block, and village panchayat levels. Yoga sessions will be conducted at gram panchayats, amrut sarovars, open gyms, anganwadi centres, and panchayat bhavans too. A total 5,000 trained yoga instructors are likely to promote yoga across the state. These trainers will lead yoga sessions in different parts of Uttar Pradesh.
