LUCKNOW, Aug. 20 -- A 45-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl, police said. The incident occurred on Saturday morning in Khasarwara of Banthra area, when the victim was alone at home with her younger brother and two sisters. Their parents had gone away to attend a funeral. According to the police, Vinod Rawat, an acquaintance of the family, lured the minor and took her to a forest in Amberpur on his motorcycle, where he allegedly raped her. The victim disclosed her ordeal to her parents upon their return. A medical examination conducted by the authorities confirmed the assault. The accused was apprehended near Chankhara on the Banthra-Bijnor road on Tuesday. Banthra in-charge Inspector Rana Rajesh Singh stated, "A case has been registered, and the medical examination of the victim has confirmed the incident. The accused is currently under interrogation, and further legal action is being taken."...
