MEERUT, March 2 -- The accused, who allegedly shared a video on social media after killing tyre trader Anees Ahmed in Kundarki, surrendered at a police station on Sunday. The accused, identified as Farmaan, was taken into custody, and a pistol was recovered from his possession, police said. He is currently being interrogated. A murder case was registered against five people based on a complaint lodged by the victim's younger brother, Nafees Ahmed. Police officials said that efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend the remaining accused. In his complaint, Nafees stated that around 9:30 pm on Friday, he was returning home after offering prayers with his elder brother Anees Ahmed and nephew Mohammad Aharaj when five armed men, who were already waiting near their house, opened fire on them. Anees was hit by four bullets and sustained critical injuries, while Nafees narrowly escaped unhurt. Anees Ahmed was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Rural SP Kunwar Akash Singh said an FIR has been registered against four identified people and one unidentified person in connection with the murder. He added that one suspect, Mohammad Armaan, has been detained and is being questioned. Police said Armaan had been conducting surveillance for several days and posted a video on social media claiming he killed the trader to avenge alleged theft and assault. Police carried out the post-mortem late on Friday night and later handed over the body to the family. The post-mortem report found that Anees sustained four bullet injuries - two to the back, one near the ear, and one to the hand. Officials said all four bullets passed through his body. Police added that further investigation is ongoing, and teams have been deployed to apprehend the remaining suspects....
