LUCKNOW, Sept. 12 -- Rahul Raj, alias Aryan, an accused in a 2019 theft case from Nalanda, Bihar, escaped from Lucknow district court in Wazirganj on Thursday during his hearing. The accused jumped from the dock amid the crowd, taking advantage of alleged negligence by the police escort. Police said Rahul Raj was brought from the Reserve Police Line under the supervision of head Constable Ajay Kumar and constable Suraj Yadav. The lockup in-charge, head constable Ranjeet Singh, reported the escape at 2:40 pm, after which officers rushed to the court and began gathering information. A case has been registered at Wazirganj police station, and teams have been deployed to trace the absconding accused. Both policemen who were on duty have been suspended pending investigation. HTC...
