LUCKNOW, Sept. 9 -- : The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has expressed satisfaction with chief minister Yogi Adityanath's steps to regulate private universities and colleges of Uttar Pradesh by making it mandatory for them to submit all documents related to their courses and planning the development of a dedicated portal. These measures will bring relief to thousands of poor students, ABVP leaders said at a press conference at the organisation's Qaiserbagh office. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-backed student organisation said the UP government swung into action to check commercialization of private education. Referring to last week's "lathi-charge incident" at Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University (SRMU) at Barabanki, ABVP national general secretary Virendra Singh Solanki said, "The ABVP delegation had a meaningful discussion with the chief minister (on Sunday). He assured strict action against the culprits. Our struggle will continue until the students get complete justice." The student organisation's national secretary Ankit Shukla said, "Just as CM has attacked crime and mafia rule in the state, similarly the work of wiping out the education mafia will now be done at a fast pace."
