Patna, Nov. 17 -- Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad's daughter Rohini Acharya on Sunday continued her attack against the party and her family, alleging that she was "cursed at" by them for "donating a dirty kidney" to her father in exchange for money and party ticket. In a series of posts on X, Acharya claimed that she was "humiliated, filthy abuses were hurled at her, and a slipper was raised to hit her". "I did not compromise on my self-respect, I did not surrender the truth, and solely because of this, I had to endure this insult...," she alleged. "May none of you ever walk my path, may no family ever have a daughter-sister like Rohini." The fresh social media posts came a day after Acharya announced that she was "quitting politics" and "disowning" her family. The 46-year-old attributed her decision to the party's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, an aide of Tejashwi Yadav. Acharya, a doctor by qualification, is Lalu Prasad's second daughter and an elder sister to both Tejashwi and Tej Pratap Yadav (who formed JJD after being expelled from the RJD earlier this year). She is also the younger sister of Misa Bharti, RJD lawmaker from Patliputra. Acharya contested the 2024 general elections from Saran, losing to the BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Her post on Saturday came a day after RJD's worst electoral performance in the Bihar assembly polls in a decade, winning just 25 seats. "Yesterday, I was cursed at and told that I am dirty, and that I got my father to have my dirty kidney transplanted into him, took crores of rupees, bought a ticket, and then got that dirty kidney put in..." Acharya said on Sunday in reference to her donating a kidney to her ailing father in December 2022. "For me, it became a huge sin that I didn't look after my family, my three children, didn't take permission from my husband or my in-laws when donating the kidney... I did what I did to save my god, my father, and today it's been called dirty... May none of you ever make a mistake like mine, may no family ever have a daughter like Rohini." Later in the day, Acharya said that she has "severed ties with her younger brother", though she stood by her sisters and her parents. "My parents and my sisters were crying when I left home. Whatever I have said is correct. Go and ask Tejashwi, Sanjay and Rameez..." she said. Both Lalu and Tejashwi were yet to comment on Acharya's allegations. "This is an internal matter of the family. The RJD of course would review what factors led to the party getting so less seats," RJD state spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwary said. In a social media post, Tej Pratap Yadav extended support to his sister. "Ever since I heard the news of my sister Rohini being attacked with slippers, the hurt in my heart has turned into a fire," he said. "This fight isn't about any party - it's about the honour of a family, the dignity of a daughter, and the self-respect of Bihar."...
