Abducted Class 11 girl rescued; 2 held
GORAKHPUR, Nov. 21 -- District police on Thursday morning arrested two individuals involved in the alleged abduction of a Class 11 girl student on Wednesday night outside a coaching centre on Bank Road.
The incident occurred around 8:30 pm and triggered a rapid police response along with a city-wide alert.
According to police officials, the accused, youths from Paniyara in Maharajganj who study in Gorakhpur, forcibly dragged the girl into a car as she exited the coaching centre.
Following the incident, all police posts and checkpoints across the city were immediately alerted.
After nearly three hours of intensive search, the kidnappers allegedly abandoned both the car and the student near the Bichhiya PAC Camp and fled. The girl was rescued safely.
SP City Abhinav Tyagi said, "The student was rescued along with the car, which is registered in Maharajganj.
We are tracing its owner based on the vehicle's registration number."
Initial investigations indicate that the motive behind the crime may be linked to a love triangle.
Police sources revealed that the victim used to speak with another girl at the coaching centre, and her former boyfriend, along with two friends, allegedly orchestrated the kidnapping.
CO Cantt Yogendra Singh confirmed that two suspects have been detained and are being questioned. He added that police had chased a suspicious vehicle near the railway station before the kidnappers abandoned the car and escaped.
The victim has alleged that the abductors verbally abused her inside the vehicle over her conversations with the other girl.
When she raised an alarm, passersby alerted the police, aiding the rescue operation.
CO Cantt Yogendra Singh further said that police presence around coaching centres and schools has now been increased to ensure student safety....
