GORAKHPUR, July 14 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Sunday criticised the Uttar Pradesh government for merging primary schools, alleging it is acting under the influence of the liquor and education mafia. Addressing party workers from eastern UP in Gorakhpur, Singh said liquor shops are opening every kilometre while primary schools are being shut or relocated 4-5 km away, calling it a "conspiracy to deprive children of education." He claimed the government has already closed 26,000 schools and plans to shut 27,000 more, questioning how young children can cross highways to reach far-off schools. Announcing AAP's Save Schools, Save Education, Save Constitution campaign, Singh said party will go door-to-door in villages to raise awareness. He also stated that AAP will contest upcoming panchayat and local body polls on its own strength. HTC...
