LUCKNOW, Nov. 15 -- Unique Identification Authority of India's (UIDAI's) regional office here carried out its first Aadhaar enrolment drive for children on a moving Metro train in the state capital, as per a note. UIDAI executed the initiative in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC). To mark Children's Day, UIDAI also organised special Aadhaar camps at Regional Science City and Indira Gandhi Planetarium, for the enrolment and the Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) for children aged 5 and 15 years. Children actively participated in painting and jingle competitions on the theme "Mera Aadhaar, Meri Pehchan" held at the planetarium. Winners of painting and essay competitions organised on Aadhaar Diwas on September 29 were also awarded. UIDAI deputy director general (Lucknow regional office) Prashant Kumar Singh said a statewide campaign was underway at schools to ensure the timely completion of MBUs for eligible children.
