Lucknow, March 2 -- Avinash Singh, 25, a resident of Azamgarh, has established two digital libraries in his hometown and is preparing to launch a third with financial assistance received under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM-YUVA) scheme. Despite limited resources and family responsibilities, Singh chose entrepreneurship over seeking employment and has already generated jobs for five young people through his venture. A BSc Mathematics graduate from the University of Allahabad, he belongs to a modest farming family and shoulders responsibilities as the eldest among five siblings. In January 2025, Singh learned about the CM-YUVA scheme online and approached the District Industries Centre for guidance. After completing formalities, his application was approved, and in February 2025 he received a Rs 5 lakh collateral-free loan from the State Bank of India. The amount was released in instalments, along with interest concessions under the scheme. Using the funds, he established 'Vidya Digital Library' in Azamgarh, offering students access to online study material through modern digital infrastructure. The facility has received an encouraging response for providing a quiet, technology-enabled learning environment. The venture currently generates a monthly income of over Rs 30,000, while Singh repays more than Rs 10,000 as a monthly instalment. Encouraged by the success, he has opened a second digital library in Azamgarh and plans to launch another branch in Prayagraj by mid-year. Singh said he chose the digital library model to improve students' access to quality study resources locally. "I am planning to set up third digital library in Prayagraj," said Avinash. MSME minister Rakesh Sachan said the State government has allocated Rs 1,000 crore under CM-YUVA scheme and Rs 225 crore under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarojgar Yojana to promote youth entrepreneurship.
