A slap, a grudge: Student attacked in car by classmate, others
LUCKNOW, Sept. 26 -- A Class 12 student of a private school was allegedly assaulted by his classmate and a group of 14-15 others in the Sushant Golf City police station limits earlier this month. CCTV footage of the September 12 incident purportedly shows youths surrounding the student's moving car and striking it with sticks and rods.
The victim's family lodged a complaint on September 13, naming one student and 10-15 unidentified persons. Police registered an FIR under Sections 191(2), 131, 351(3), and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on charges of assault and criminal intimidation.
According to the complaint, the student was leaving school in his car after classes when the attackers intercepted him. "They clung to the car, climbed onto the roof, and repeatedly smashed the windows. One even stood on the roof and struck from above," the victim told police.
The windshield was shattered, and the assault continued for nearly 400 metres before the group fled on spotting policemen nearby.
Police said the attack appears linked to a September 4 incident in school, when the accused classmate allegedly misbehaved with a female student who slapped him in front of others. The complainant was standing behind him with the girl, after which the accused reportedly held a grudge against him. The incident was recorded on school CCTV.
In the FIR, the complainant alleged negligence on the part of the police officials present at the scene. "The boys tried several times to reach me but were unsuccessful. My windshield was completely shattered. A traffic constable and two constables saw a boy climbing onto the car and trying to break the glass, but no action was taken," he stated....
