India, July 31 -- The terrorist attack against vice-presidential candidate and President Ashraf Ghani's running mate, Amrullah Saleh, on July 28 in Kabul was a part of an attempt to eliminate strong Afghan leaders opposed to the Taliban and its patron, Pakistan. Last October, another formidable and outspoken critic of the Taliban and Pakistan and Kandahar's police general, Abdur Raziq, was killed. Fortunately, for Afghanistan - but not for the Taliban or Pakistan - Saleh escaped only with a minor injury....
