A month after escape, criminal arrested from Kushinagar
Lucknow, Aug. 15 -- The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Wednesday arrested Dharmendra alias Rahul Dev, a wanted accused carrying a reward of Rs.50,000, from Padrauna of Kushinagar district, confirmed STF officials on Thursday.
He was absconding from Chhattisgarh police custody and was wanted in a case registered at Ajitmal police station of Auraiya district.
A senior STF official said Rahul Dev was a history- sheeter at Milak police station of Rampur district with as many as 17 cases including theft and other offences against him.
He said the accused had escaped from police custody while being taken back to Chattisgarh after a court appearance in Delhi on July 27, 2025.
The Special Task Force team, led by additional superintendent of police, Abdul Qadir, tracked him down and arrested him in Kushinagar....
