India, Dec. 31 -- On October 18, defence minister Rajnath Singh and chief minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the first batch of BrahMos missiles produced at the BrahMos Aerospace facility in the state capital. The Lucknow unit is the first in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor where the entire missile production process-from system manufacturing to final testing-is carried out entirely indigenously. It has a diameter of 70 cm and a wingspan of 1.7 m and can gain a speed of Mach 3.5 with a maximum range of 650 km. The ship-launched and land-based missiles can carry a 200 kg warhead, whereas the aircraft-launched variant (BrahMos A) can carry a 300 kg warhead....
