Pithoragarh, June 1 -- At least 12 people have been admitted to Lohaghat Hospital and over 50 others are undergoing primary treatment at home after a suspected food poisoning incident affected over 90 people in Siling village located in the Lohaghat sub-division of Champawat district, officials said on Saturday. "Our medical teams from primary health centre reached the spot after receiving an urgent letter from the Lohaghat tehsildar, informing us that villagers began vomiting after consuming food at a social ceremony," said Dr. Sonali Mandal, medical superintendent, CHC Lohaghat. "There are still over 50 affected people in the village. We have rushed medical teams from all corners of the sub-division. The symptoms began shortly after villagers consumed food at a wedding ceremony on Friday," she added. According to health officials, they are monitoring the situation closely....
