90 Bangladeshi nationals held in Mathura village
AGRA, May 18 -- As many as 90 Bangladeshi nationals were taken into custody by police during a checking drive in Mathura district on Friday evening.
Those detained -- 35 men, 27 women and 28 children -- worked at a brick kiln in Mathura's Khajpur village within Naujheel police station limits, officials said, adding a case was registered in this regard.
As per Mathura SSP Shlok Kumar, as part of a drive to verify the identity of labourers working in rural parts of the district, 90 individuals employed at the brick kiln in Khajpur village were found to be citizens of Bangladesh.
"All of them have been taken into custody and they are being interrogated," the SSP said.
"Those detained were found to be residing at the brick kiln in Khajpur village for the past 3-4 months after shifting from a nearby state," Kumar said. htc...
