87% work of 3 ropeway stns in Kashi complete
VARANASI, May 21 -- The 87% work, including construction of the three out of the five ropeway stations in Kashi, has been completed.
Also, 85% work of installation of facade, interior and equipment for the operation of the ropeway at all the three stations of Cantt, Vidyapeeth and Rathyatra is almost complete.
The work of the first section of the first phase from Cantt to Rathyatra is proposed to be completed by June.
Prakash Gaur, chief executive officer, National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) said that the construction of ropeway stations and installation of equipment is being done as per international safety standards. In the first section of the first phase, the construction work of Cantt Ropeway Station, Vidyapeeth and Rathyatra Station is going on at a fast pace in which the civil work of all three stations has been completed. The work of installation of interior and equipment is going on under the supervision of experts.
For the operation of the ropeway, rope pulling has been done by the engineers of Austria's expert company "Rope Experts". After this, the trial run started from January 30 which was successfully completed in April 2025.
The work of all the equipment and testing for the operation of the rope is almost complete. As much as 98% work of the installation of equipment of all three stations for operation of ropeway has been completed....
