86th presiding officers' meet in Lko from Jan 19
LUCKNOW, Dec. 30 -- Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha speaker Satish Mahana on Monday said the state legislative assembly would host the 86th All-India Presiding Officers' Conference (AIPOC) here from January 19 to 21, 2026. The presiding officers would be taken for a visit to Ayodhya on January 22.
The 62nd conference of secretaries of legislative bodies would also be organised along with the presiding officers' conference here. Speaking to media persons here, Mahana said Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla would inaugurate the conference while chief minister Yogi Adityanath would be chief guest on the occasion.
Those scheduled to attend the conference include deputy chairman Rajya Sabha Harivansh Narayan Singh while UP governor Anandiben Patel would be there on the closing of the conference on January 21.
Mahana said the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha, which commenced here on December 19, 2025, had four sittings and was adjourned sine die on December 24. He said there was no adjournment of the house and the house conducted its business for 24 hours and 50 minutes during the winter session.
He said in all, the house received 2,776 questions and out of them 2,650 questions (95.46 percent) were received online from the members. He said the house also received petitions from the members and conducted legislative business....
