LUCKNOW, Nov. 7 -- An eight-year-old boy was killed after a speeding car hit him near Faujji Dhaba in Lucknow's Bakshi Ka Talab area, late on Wednesday evening. The victim, Krishna, was walking along the roadside when the vehicle struck him with such force that he was thrown several metres away. Local residents rushed him to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Krishna's father, Moolchand, a daily-wage labourer from Khairabad in Sitapur, has been living with his family in a roadside hut near the accident site. He said his youngest son was walking close to their hut when the accident occurred. The child suffered severe head and arm injuries. The car driver fled the scene. "Police reached the spot and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.
