PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 2 -- An eight-year-old boy, who had gone for a walk with his father near Gangeshwar Mahadev temple in Shivkuti, drowned in the Ganga on Sunday evening. His body was recovered from the river on Monday morning. After conducting a post-mortem, police handed over the body to the family. According to reports, Ravi Shankar Mishra, a Shivkuti resident, went for a bike ride with his eight-year-old son Kushagra on Sunday evening. After parking his bike near Gangeshwar Mahadev temple, he got engaged in a phone conversation while Kushagra played nearby. While playing, the boy accidentally slipped into the swollen Ganga due to flooding. By the time onlookers noticed, he had already drowned. Police, with the help of divers, searched for the boy until late Sunday evening but could not locate him. On Monday morning, his body was found floating in the Ganga. Shivkuti SHO Rukampal Singh confirmed that the boy had died due to drowning. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family....
