8-acre encroachment near Idgah removed
Rudrapur, Dec. 8 -- The state administration removed encroachments on around eight-acre land near Idgah in Khera colony of Rudrapur in Uddham Singh Nagar on Sunday, officials familiar with the matter said.
They said despite an allotment of 2.53-acre to the Idgah and madarsa committee by the government in 2012, the committee had encroached on the land. Ample force was deployed during the anti-encroachment drive, said officials with the matter.
Pankaj Upadhyaya, additional district magistrate (ADM), US Nagar said: "Physical and drone surveys were carried out from November 14 onwards before removing encroachment. The drive began at 8 am and was carried out peacefully. We faced no challenge for the community."
"We have taken possession of the land and any encroachment on this land will be dealt with strict action."...
