Rudrapur, Nov. 24 -- The additional district court of Kashipur on Saturday sentenced six men to rigorous life imprisonment in a 2-year-old murder case, lawyers familiar with court proceedings said on Sunday. According to Ratan Singh Kamboj, additional district government counsel, the case stemmed from a complaint lodged by Ramesh Chandra, a resident of Kelakhera in US Nagar. The complainant alleged that the accused, Manavdeep alias Manav, Ravi Saini, Shahrookh, Arman, Junaid and Asif, severely assaulted his son, Vishal Kamboj in Bazpur market on May 25, 2023, after which he succumbed to his injuries at the spot. "They were convicted on Thursday, and the arrest was made on the same day. The court kept the verdict reserved but announced it on Saturday," he added.
