Dehradun, May 2 -- Uttarakhand police busted an international online betting racket being operated from Dubai and arrested six bookies from Dehradun, a police official said. The police also recovered Rs.5.33 lakh, two laptops, 17 mobile phones, two mobile chargers, several laptop chargers of different brands, 3 notepads. The accused were identified as Chetan Sharma (34), Shakti Singh (35), Dheeraj Sharma (29), Nishant (35), Karan (29), and Sohan Singh (44), all residents of Delhi. Senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said, "We received a tip off about the operation of an international online betting racket in Dehradun and constituted multiple teams from Rajpur police station under the leadership of circle officer Sadar for action. The teams raided a flat near Cozy Nest Homestay and arrested six bookies involved in online betting on Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.
