LUCKNOW, Oct. 19 -- A 45-year-old carpenter reportedly took his own life over unpaid wages in Lucknow's Saadatganj area on Friday evening. Police recovered a suicide note at the scene, in which he accused four people of withholding his dues and stated that their harassment had driven him to take the drastic step. The deceased, a resident of Mohammadganj Bawli in Saadatganj, reportedly hanged himself using an electric wire inside his home around 5:30 pm, according to police. His son, who was at work at the time, rushed home after receiving a call from his sister informing him of their father's suicide. Upon reaching home, the son found his father's body hanging from the ceiling with a wire, a toppled stool nearby indicating it had been used in the act. The family immediately rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. During a room inspection, police recovered a suicide note in which Radheshyam named four individuals-MK Khan, Ramesh Maurya, Annu Mishra, and Kaleem-accusing them of withholding his wages and subjecting him to mental harassment. His son claimed that his father had frequently complained about these men refusing to pay for his labor, leaving him feeling hopeless. Saadatganj station house officer (SHO) Santosh Kumar Arya stated that the body has been sent for postmortem, and the suicide note has been seized for forensic examination. "A case has been registered based on the complaint filed by the deceased's son, and further investigation is ongoing," he added.htc...
