LUCKNOW, Jan. 13 -- As part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month campaign, the transport department's enforcement teams on Sunday intensified checks and challaned 45 vehicles for overspeeding on Shaheed Path. Assistant regional transport officer (ARTO) Prabhat Pandey said, "The special drive was aimed at curbing rash driving, which remains one of the leading causes of road accidents in the city". The enforcement action was carried out by teams led by passenger and goods tax officers Abha Tripathi and Anita Verma. Earlier, a street play on road safety was also staged on the regional transport office (RTO) premises in Transport Nagar.
